As a boss of a company, organization, or even a small team, you might get annoyed when you must complete the work that your subordinate should did it for you. Or perhaps your supervisor get upset on you due to uncomplete job you should do for him/her. Yes, it happens every where every time in every organization. It’s not a fatal mistake actually but it could make you feel bad all day. And if this is usual happens in your organization, I bet your organization is very poor performed.
Half complete means not complete at all. And in my opinion it’s all about the mindset of your people within your organization including you. When people accept the half-baked bread as their daily meal then it becomes a disease where your organization will start unproductive, unefficient and at the end less compettive in the market.
So, what can we do with the situation, or better to avoid that situation?
First of all, it must comes from the top person in the organization. As the leader, you must set the rule of completed staff work within your team work with no excuse. There is no other way better than do regular follow up on your staff work for you. If you do it regularly and persistently, your staff will start learn to give you a full-baked bread because you insist it.
This is perhaps the reason why every team work I lead provide not only a standard good job but the best within the organization. And when I applied it in a whole organization, we become the most competitiveness company in the kind of industries within the region. My principle is very simple, I always expect my team to please do not serve me a half-baked bread.
