I have seen system implemented in many organizations does not work as it should, though they are pass the requirements and get the certification from the auditor. You might not believe it but it happens. Why was that? Most of the audit focus on documentation only. They do field observation indeed, but most of them do not have sufficient knowledge on the business process of their auditee. therefore, the auditors will rely on the documentation and standard audit procedures.

You have two options here, first you adopt the culture through your organization, or you adjust the system align with your organization culture. None of them are easy, but you should do it.
- Your people are not ready to implement the system. Not only due to the culture reason as explain above, but system also require the skill of the people operate it. Proper training is the only one you must do. However, the challenge now is how to get the effective training for your people. Many organization have the same problem, i.e. the training can not guarantee prepare their people to operate their new system. The key is how your organization can measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the training.
- You do not prepare proper facility to support the system. Most of the top management thought that facility is not necessary required. They usually provide it as “it looks like” matter due to money reasons but they wrong. They should consider the cost benefit of the facility they need to invest as just required by the system. Because this will give them more money in return.
- You do not monitor your system. You need to have internal auditors to audit your system on timely manner and report it to you. Ignore this, and you will find out later on in your finance report in terms of less profit.
Creativity play a very important role in developing the effective system. The person who develop your system must understand not only the system requirements but the business process, the people and your organization culture to blend them in become the effective system.
